Virginia Arld (Soisson) Northrup

Virginia Arld (Soisson) Northrup, also known as Jeannie, was a loving wife and mother who passed away at the age of 90 on October 24, 2021 in Greeley, Colorado where she resided with her daughter, Tammy Lee Northrup.

Virginia was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to James and Ruth Soisson.  She was also predeceased by her sister, Maxine Hensel.

Virginia and Donald were happily married for 51 years. They were married in Ft. Meyr, Virginia where Donald was serving in the US Army.  Their life was full of adventure, the US Army sending them to West Germany, Virginia, and back to Germany. Their service also took them to California, The Philippines, and Florida.  They eventually settled in Chandler, Arizona, then retired to the White Mountain communities of Snowflake and Show Low, Arizona.

Virginia was a pioneer in the data collection industry having worked at Luce Press Clippings in Mesa, Arizona for 20 years.  Upon retirement, Virginia enjoyed spending time with family and doing crafts such as quilting, sewing, crocheting, cross stitch, creating polymer clay sculptures.

Virginia is survived by her children, DeeAnne (Doug) Hawkins, Timothy J. (Curta)  Northrup, Sandra (Terry) Worcester, Tammy Lee Northrup, and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Northrup.  She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was a proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Donald K. Northrup and son, Keith Northrup.

Private services will be held at a later date in Arizona where Virginia will be interred with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
