Coping with Grief

Ronald Ray Barnett was born to Ralph and Velma Barnett on the farm in Gem, Kansas on January 24, 1938. He was the first of 3 boys in the family. Ron passed away under the care of Pathways Hospice. Ron attended school and graduated in Colby, Kansas. Ron's adult life started with farming in the Gem area where he was united in marriage to Janice Jones, to which this union two sons were born, J.R. & Christopher. As the years went on, Ron went into Co-Op management and lived in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. While working in Nebraska, he met and married Norma Kerst in 1995 and gained 5 stepchildren. Mikel (Mary) Kurst, Kelvin (Sherri) Kurst, Sharleen (Brad) Riemenschneider, Carolyn (Preston) Klimper, and Kristi (Bob) Day. Ron is survived by his wife Norma of the home, sons, Jr (Wendy) and Christopher (Tina) Stepchildren Mikel (pappy) Kelvin, Sharleen, and Kristi as well as their spouses, Sisters in law Topper Barnett, and Sandra Barnett, and several grandchildren. He also had a special fur friend, Wrinkles, who will certainly miss him. Ron was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Marvin and Bill, stepdaughter Carilyn Klimper and son-in-law Bob Day.
McCoy Family Funeral Home of Windsor, Colorado is handling the local arrangements.
Final arrangements have not been made and will be finalized by the family.
