James David Bartnik, 75, of Windsor, Colorado, died Thursday, October 21, 2021, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
James was born April 15, 1946, in Buffalo, New York, to John Joseph and Clara Flora Lubecki Bartnik.
From a very early age, his siblings remember Jim as someone they could trust and rely on. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1968. He was proud to have served as a cook in Korea before returning to the States.
He married Shari Crouse Bartnik on November 24, 1976, who was his perfect match. She preceded him in death in 2016.
When he was not working, Jim loved watching professional wrestling. He spent his last few years fishing at Windsor Lake, enjoying old Westerns, and spending time with his beloved dog, Jack.
James was preceded in death by parents, his stepfather, Leo Hinca, and his sister, Joan Bartsch.
James is survived by his siblings John “Butch” Bartnik, Dennis Bartnik, Diane Safarowicz, and Mary Berlinski, all of Buffalo NY; eight children, Ronda Jones (Mark) of Killeen TX, Peggy Wilber of Casper WY, James Bartnik Jr. (Melinda) of Blythe CA, Christine Brister (George) of Rockport TX, Bud Bartnik (Janet) of Eagle CO, Jerry Koester (Annette) of Newcastle WY, Brian Bartnik (Jennifer) of Windsor CO, and Ron Bartsch (Alicia) of Akron NY; 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A burial service will be held in Peetz CO in April, 2022.
