Obituary
Erika (Christie) Franikowski, passed away in Windsor Colorado at the age of 78 years. She was born in Germany in 1943. In 1945 her immediate family came to Sterling Colorado to join their relatives who previously moved from Germany into Northeastern Colorado to escape the effects of the World War and farm in the area.
In her early years, her focus was on being studious while working in the Greeley and Garden City area. She graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1962 with one of her favorite topics being Latin. After high school and being adventurous, she moved to Santa Barbara California and then up the west coast to Oregon and Washington state. She attended Colorado State College, now the University of Northern Colorado.
Returning to Colorado in the late 60’s she married, was briefly in Windsor during the 1970’s and then moved to Greeley. She eventually returned to Windsor in the 1990’s to assist with family. In her later years she enjoyed being outdoors and the interactions of many in the Windsor area. Windsor Colorado was her Mayberry USA.
