Candace (Candy) Washburn Obituary

Candice M. Washburn, 60, passed from this life into eternal life on Monday May 9th at her home surrounded by loved ones after a long-fought battle of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was the wife of Bruce Washburn. They shared 30 wonderful years together. Mother to Otto Campbell the 3rd, and grandmother to two precious grandchildren.

Born in Iowa, she was the daughter of Harriet Davis and Everett Lee, and was the oldest of four siblings and three step/half siblings. They moved to Colorado in 1971, where she later graduated from Rocky Mountain High School and attended Front Range Community College.

She was a godly woman who loved her family and friends with everything she had. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, shopping, and spending her days with the ones she loved. Her world revolved around her grandchildren who adored their play dates & sleepovers with their Memaw. She will be remembered for her big heart, her kindness and empathy towards all, and for her valiant fight with the disease that ultimately took her from us.

She is survived by her husband Bruce, her parents Harriet, Everett and Betty Lee, her son Otto, her daughter-in-law Daniella Campbell, her siblings Scott and Melissa Lee, Carmen and Don Stavely, Inez Lee, Troy Davis, Crystal Jones, Chad Lee, and her grandchildren Otto Campbell the 4th and Dahlia Campbell, as well as her nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her beloved stepfather Robert Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends this fall in Estes Park. This was a special place where Candy and Bruce spent many happy weekends together.
