Audrey Johnson

In loving memory of Audrey Antoinette (Wallace) Johnson.

Born on August 7,1953 in Monmouth, IL. Audrey passed away on January 20, 2021 at approximately 9:13 am at her residence in Windsor, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents Clem Campbell and Mamie (Wallace) Campbell, both of Monmouth, IL. Audrey was raised in Monmouth, IL and graduated Monmouth High School in 1972. Later, she attended Carl Sandburg College and studied nursing. Audrey was employed by Western Stoneware (Monmouth, IL), Wilson Foods (Monmouth, IL), Home Health Care worker for Bill Campbell. At the age of twenty-six Audrey had her first-born child Leotis B. Johnson III in November of 1979. Audrey had a loving heart and fell in love with being a mother that she became a foster mom to many children and later adopted children whom she loved very much.

A lifelong member of St. James A.M.E. church (Monmouth, IL) and devout Christian. Audrey is survived by her sister Jacquelyn Turner of Galesburg, IL, and her children; Leotis B. Johnson III and fiancé Marisela Hernandez of Windsor, CO, Kaz Johnson of Davenport, IA, Deondre Johnson, Kapody Johnson of Monmouth, IL, Katrina Johnson of Oakley, CA and her beloved Mecaila Johnson of Galesburg, IL. Three nephews, three nieces and ten grandchildren.

Audrey has special childhood friends and family; Denise Brooks, Lelia Sloan, Karen Cassidy, Shelly Williams, Royce Wallace, Merri Williams, Dennis Brooks, Calvin Wallace, Raliegh Mitchell, Rochelle Wallace, Curtis Mitchell and Pam Mitchell.

The celebration of life will be held at St. James A.M.E Church and burial at Monmouth Cemetery. Further notice for Funeral services to come.
